Today, under the exemplary leadership of Shri Narayan Ram Khadav, Off. Commandant of the 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam (Sikkim), a potentially catastrophic incident was averted due to the swift and courageous actions of the battalion personnel.
At approximately 1300hrs, a vehicle Innova, registration number SK02P7100 traveling from Geyzing to Yuksam suddenly caught fire near the Transport Section of the Battalion Headquarters. The vehicle was carrying Shri Sadanand Pandey, General Manager of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), along with two departmental engineers.
Upon noticing the flames, the alert personnel of the Transport Section immediately responded with remarkable speed and efficiency. Their prompt action in extinguishing the fire ensured the safety of all passengers and prevented any major damage to the vehicle or loss of life.
The timely and effective response was highly praised by the General Manager and accompanying engineers, who extended their heartfelt appreciation to the 72nd Battalion, SSB, Yuksam. Their commendation underscores the battalion’s readiness, discipline, and commitment to public safety.
