Rimbi-Tingbrum GPU conducts 2-day exposure tour to Namphing GPU
Gyalshing, August 18:
Rimbi-Tingbrum Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) under Yuksam-Tashiding constituency, Gyalshing district, organised a two-day exposure tour on administrative management to Namphing GPU under Timi-Namphing constituency, Namchi district, on August 17 and 18.
A 37-member team led by Panchayat President Shri Mangal Rai, comprising Panchayat members, officials and staff of Rimbi-Tingbrum GPK, participated in the tour. The team studied various aspects of Panchayat administration management, including own source revenue (OSR) generation and other administrative practices.
As part of the visit, the team also joined the traditional paddy cultivation event organised under the State Government’s flagship initiative ‘Hamro Bari, Hamro Bali’ at Namphing. The initiative, envisioned by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, seeks to utilise barren agricultural land for productive farming and ensure sustainable agricultural practices across the state.
Namphing GPU, which has adopted barren land under this initiative, has launched a large-scale paddy cultivation programme with the active participation of various organisations and government agencies.
Advisor to the State Medicinal Plants Board Shri NB Limboo, Zilla Panchayat Member Ms Sabitri Rai, and CLC organisation Secretary Shri Gyalpo Lepcha also joined the exposure tour and the paddy cultivation drive.
On the occasion, Namphing Gram Panchayat presented a token of appreciation to the Rimbi-Tingbrum Gram Panchayat.
