Hon'ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur ji made dignified presence as Chief Guest in the final match of the football competition held at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day.
Hon'ble Chief Minister Mr. Prem Singh Tamang ji was also present as a special guest on this occasion.
This thrilling match was played between Kanchanjanga Football Club and Dragon Football Club.
The Governor met the players of both the teams as soon as he arrived at the stadium, shook hands with him and congratulated him and appreciated his enthusiasm.
On this occasion Hon'ble Governor said that Sikkim is the state of football lovers. He also said that the children of Sikkim have immense possibilities of outstanding performance at the national and internationally.
Football is not just a sport here, but the energy and enthusiasm of the people.
The program had remarkable presence of Hon'ble Council of Ministers, Hon'ble MLAs, High Administrative Officers, Local Citizens and thousands of sports lovers.
Independence Day cheer and patriotism was clearly seen throughout the event.
