Soreng, 25 July: A brief but significant meeting was convened at the premises of the Zilla Panchayat Bhawan, Soreng District, to mark the inauguration of the Office of the Additional Political Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Erastus Lucksom. The newly established office, housed within the Zilla Panchayat Bhawan, signifies a step forward in enhancing political and administrative coordination and strengthening grassroots governance.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Smt. Tila Devi Gurung, Adhyaksha, Zilla Panchayat, Soreng District, Shri Chandra Bir Kami, Upadhakshya, Zilla Panchayat Soreng District, Shri Dhiraj Subedi, District Collector, Soreng, Additional District Collector (Development) Shri Gayas Pega; Chief Accounts Officer, Land Revenue Department, Shri B.L. Adhikari; District Planning Officer, Soreng (Zilla Panchayat) Shri Kumar Subba; Assistant Engineer Shri Kamal Sharma; Accounts Officer (Zilla Panchayat) Shri Tara Prasad Sharma; CA to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Ashman Subba; CA to Hon’ble MLA Soreng-Chakung Shri Dinak Pandey; along with several Zilla Panchayat Members and departmental officers. Political representatives in attendance included Shri D.D. Pradhan, District President, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (Soreng District), and Shri Bhanu Subba, CLC President, Soreng-Chakung Constituency.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Smt. Tila Devi Gurung, Adhyaksha of the Zilla Panchayat Soreng District, expressed her appreciation for the establishment of the Additional Political Secretary’s office within the Zilla Panchayat Bhawan premises. She affirmed that the Zilla body would extend full cooperation in all developmental and outreach initiatives aligned with the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s vision of inclusive and sustainable progress.
District Collector Shri Dhiraj Subedi congratulated Shri Erastus Lucksom and underlined the critical role of close coordination between political representatives and district authorities in delivering timely public services. ADC (Development) Shri Gayas Pega emphasized that this new political office will act as a catalyst in aligning field level development with administrative efficiency. DPO (Zilla) Shri Kumar Subba also extended his assurance of seamless coordination from the Zilla Panchayat administrative setup in close coordination with district administration.
In his address, Shri Erastus Lucksom extended heartfelt thanks to all dignitaries, representatives, and staff for their presence and support. He reiterated his commitment to staying accessible and working in active partnership with government functionaries, elected representatives, and citizens to ensure developmental justice and fulfill the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s mission of people first governance. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and collective affirmation to advance the district development through mutual cooperation.
