Gangtok, July 22:
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer-Sikkim conducted a meeting with the representatives of political parties at the CEO Level on 22d July 2025. The meeting was held as part of the monthly interaction, in line with directives from the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The discussion focused on reviewing issues raised and resolved during DEO-Level
political parties meeting held earlier in July 2025. The objectives were to ensure smooth coordination and to address pending concern.
Key issues discussed included preparatory works being undertaken at the DEO and ERO level for the proposed Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls particularly
rationalization of polling station including identification of new building subject to
number of polling station to have not more than 1200 electors and appointment of
additional officials especially BLOs in anticipation of expected number of polling station and volume of work.
The training of Election officials mainly the National Training Program for BLOs which
was completed between 7 to 17h July 2025 in the district, recently concluded training of
32 BLOs and supervisors, 01 DEO, and 3 EROs at IIIDEM on 17h July and the ongoing
ERO/AERO training were discussed at large.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhancing coordination,
transparency and cooperation between the political parties and the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim.
