Under the ageis of 'Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana' an awareness cum registration programme conducted at Mickhola Singithang GPU under Namchi BAC under the Chirmanship of Honourable Panchyat President Shri Suren Rai in presence of Honourable Panchyats, BDO Namchi, Director SREDA Shri Jeewan Thapa, Superintendent Engineer SREDA and other dignitaries.
Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Yojana aims to increase the share of solar rooftop capacity and empower residential household to generate the own electricity. In the State of Sikkim, the scheme will be implemented by SREDA (Sikkim Renewal Energy Development Agency).
The scheme provide for subsidy of 60% of the solar cost system up to 2KW capacity and 40% of additional systems between 2 to 3 KW capacity. The subsidy has been capped at 3KW capacity.
