The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur granted an audience to newly recruited officers belonging to Sikkim State Civil Services, Sikkim Finance & Accounts Services 2025 at conferences Hall, Raj Bhavan today.
The Hon’ble Governor opened his lively interactive meeting with the newly recruited 18 Under Secretaries and 30 Accounts Officers by congratulating them on their success and wishing them well for their important careers.
The Governor advised the newly recruited officers to commit themselves fully to their jobs and also be keen to keep learning through their experiences to be more effective in achieving Vikshit Bharat 2047 envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. He urged all officers to fulfil their duty with an inclusive commitment, honesty, and resolute determination.
Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Hon’ble Governor said, “The Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India is deeply rooted in the commitment, integrity, and innovative spirit of our young civil servants. Wherever your postings may take you, strive to implement transformative initiatives—your actions will serve as your true contribution towards the development of the State and the nation.”
He stressed the urgent need for the officials to be well versed and knowledgeable about the local languages, customs, culture and traditions of the State. Further, he emphasized the adoption of a healthy lifestyle, the importance of cultural preservation, and the need to remain deeply connected to one's roots, stating that language and culture are the foundations of identity.
“You (officers) have been entrusted with an important role in the service. Therefore, you should perform your duties with truthfulness, integrity, dedication, impartiality, and transparency,” added Hon’ble Governor. He also wished them all success and advised them to have strong determination, will power, discipline and dedication to reach the zenith of a successful service life.
The programme was attended by Shri Ringzin Chewang Bhutia, Secretary, Department of Personnel, and Shri Mahesh Sharma, Additional Secretary cum Director of Administrative Training Institute (ATI) and Shri C L Sharma Deputy Secretary (ATI).
