The Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 10th to 12th July, 2025 concluded on a high note for Sikkim with the state making a remarkable impression and bagging two prestigious awards:
Most Promising New Destination – awarded to Soreng and Excellence in Eco, Adventure, and Rural Tourism – awarded to Sikkim Tourism.
The Sikkim Pavilion was among the most visited and vibrant stalls at the event, drawing huge crowds throughout the fair. Stakeholders from across the tourism spectrum shared that they had engaged in substantial business opportunities and meaningful collaborations, further boosting the image of Sikkim as a top travel destination.
The Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the key dignitaries whose personal participation made this event so impactful. Special thanks to:
Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, Hon'ble Deputy Speaker and Area MLA (Yangang)
Shri Aditya Goley, Hon'ble Area MLA (Soreng -Chakung) for advocating the development of Soreng and Yangang, highlighting their unique cultural identity, community-based tourism models, and immense potential for sustainable tourism growth.
The panel discussion also participated by:
Shri Sudesh Kumar Subba, Hon’ble Advisor to the Tourism Department and Area MLA, Maneybong Dentam,Shri Bikash Basnet, Political Secretary (Press and Publicity) to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, reinforced the state’s vision for inclusive tourism that empowers local communities and explores new destinations and also to the Karma Subba, OSD to HCM for his active participation.
The Department also would like to thank the Sikkim INSPIRES team, officers of IHCAE and IHM and also the stakeholders whose active participation indeed showed their seriousness in achieving the vision of the Hon'ble Chief Minister’s “Sunaulo, Samriddha ani Samarth Sikkim"
Sikkim’s award-winning presence at TTF Kolkata 2025 not only showcased the diversity and depth of its tourism offerings but also reaffirmed the state’s position as a leader in eco-friendly, adventure-driven, and rural tourism in the Eastern Himalayas as well as at national level.
