Day-Long Workshop by NCDFI Commemorates 40 Years of Collaboration with Ministry of Defence
Gangtok, July 12:
A day-long national workshop was organized by the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) on 10th July 2025 at The Park Hotel, New Delhi, to commemorate 40 years of successful collaboration with the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The program also served as a platform to extend sincere gratitude to all Milk Unions and Federations for their steadfast commitment in nourishing the Armed Forces and empowering dairy farmers across the country.
The workshop was chaired by Lt. Gen. Mukesh Chadha, SM, VSM, DGST, Central Command, and witnessed the special presence of Maj. Gen. Ashish R. Sirsikar, VSM, ADGST & Chairman, NCDFI, Shri Meenesh Shah, Managing Director, NCDFI, Shri Srinivas Sajja, Brigadier Magotra, HQ Supply and Transport, senior Army officials from various Commands, and the Managing Directors of all Milk Unions and Federations.
Key Issues Discussed:
- Supply of fresh milk in Eastern Ladakh & Kargil
- Inclusion of Nutramilk in regular supplies
- Supply of fresh milk instead of MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging)
- Signing of an MoU with NCDFI for supply of cheese variants
- Ensuring delivery of fresh milk at respective unit locations across the Western Command
- Tackling supply chain disruptions due to quality control issues
- Provision for placing TPM/MAP demand in every contract
As a mark of respect and recognition, Lt. Gen. Mukesh Chadha presented a bouquet to the Chairman, NDDB in honour of receiving the Agriculture Leadership Award.
Additionally, Command HQs, Central Command, DGST, ADGST, all Command Heads, and Managing Directors from Milk Federations and Unions were presented with Certificates of Appreciation by NCDFI for their valuable contributions.
On behalf of the Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., Dr. T. B. Ghatani, Managing Director, received a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the Union’s outstanding contribution in supplying quality milk and milk products to the Ministry of Defence.
