INSPIRE Teachers Training Programme Concludes Successfully
Education Department Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Heartfulness Education Trust, Hyderabad, successfully concluded the three-day INSPIRE Teachers Training Programme from July 9th to 11th, 2025. The training took place at the auditorium of PM SHRI Soreng Senior Secondary School and saw the participation of about 140 teachers from 48 schools across the district, including junior high schools to senior secondary level schools.
The primary focus of the programme was to provide nodal teachers with essential mindfulness and meditation skills. These skills will be implemented in their respective schools to develop a healthier, more positive learning environment. Resource persons Mrs. Juhi Shah and Mrs. Jagruti Parakh, both from Heartfulness Education Trust, led the impactful training sessions. The programme also benefited from the expertise of Master Trainers Ms. Malati Tamang, PGT Political Science from RBGSSS Kaluk, and Mr. Dewashish Tamang, GTM from SLDKG SSS Mangalbaria.
The inauguration ceremony, held on July 9th, 2025, was graced by Shri A.D. Chettri, Additional Director, Samagra Shiksha, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Shri L.D. Sharma, CEO of Soreng District, along with other officials from the Education Department’s headquarters, district offices, and block-level representatives.
On July 11th, 2025, the valedictory ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the programme. Shri L.D. Sharma, CEO, Education Department, Soreng District, attended the event and presented certificates to all participating teachers in recognition of their efforts.
The primary objective of the INSPIRE Teachers Training Programme was to empower educators with the necessary tools to foster a nurturing and constructive academic atmosphere. Through mindfulness and meditation techniques, the programme aimed to improve the overall well-being of both teachers and students, ultimately boosting academic performance and developing personal growth.
The Education Department of Soreng District remains dedicated to ensuring quality education and promoting the holistic development of students. The INSPIRE Teachers Training Programme represents a significant initiative towards achieving these objectives, and the department is hopeful for the positive transformation it will bring to the educational landscape of Soreng.
