Patrolling-cum-checking drive to identify violations of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) is being conducted by Gyalshing District Police.
The drive is being carried out at the right earnest by Gyalshing District Police in the vicinity of various Schools!
During the operation, all nearby shops and canteens are inspected for the sale of tobacco products!
Vendors are strictly instructed to refrain from selling any tobacco products within 100 yards of the school premises and to students! They are also warned about the legal consequences of any future violations!
Furthermore, the school authorities are requested to discreetly inform Police about any instances of COTPA violations they may come across! Prompt legal action will be taken against offenders!
The District Police is also uprooting illegal cannabis(ghanja) plants in villages and are destroying the plants!!
