A Five-Day Residential Workshop concludes at Aashirbad Girls Children Home, Begha
Gyalshing,July 5:
A five Day residential workshop organised by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Gyalshing, under the Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department (WCSC&DWD), at Aashirbad Girls Children Home, Begha successfully concluded,today.
The workshop held during the summer break from 1st to 5th July 2025,focused on engaging children in creative life-skill activities through hands-on training in crochet art and craft.
The primary objectives of the workshop was to :
• To enhance fine motor skills and focus through art-based learning.
• To build emotional regulation, patience, and resilience in children.
• To explore sustainable livelihood skills with potential for future income generation.
Under the guidance of an experienced resource person, the children learned to make handcrafted crochet flowers and accessories, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm and creativity.
The closing ceremony featured heartfelt interactions, distribution of small gifts, and a cake-cutting celebration to appreciate the children’s efforts and participation.
Moving forward, DCPU Gyalshing envisions extending similar skill-based workshops to promote psychosocial development, vocational exploration, and community-based marketing opportunities for the children’s creations.
