Awareness Programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) Held at Rhenock Block as Part of 9th Crop Insurance Week Celebration
Pakyong, July 05:
As part of the nationwide observance of the 9th Crop Insurance Week, an awareness programme on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was successfully conducted at Rhenock Block, encompassing three Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs): Sudunglakha, Tarpin, and Rhenock.
The event aimed to educate local farmers about the key features, benefits, and enrollment procedures of the PMFBY scheme, which is designed to offer financial security against crop losses due to natural calamities and unforeseen events.
The programme was coordinated by Krishna Dhakal, Agriculture Development Officer (ADO), Department of Agriculture, Rhenock, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from local farmers, Panchayat members, Agriculture Inspectors, Assistant Technical Manager, officials from various line departments, representatives from Common Service Centres (CSC), and Future Generali Insurance Company.
The awareness session featured in-depth discussions on the objectives, coverage, premium structure, and claim settlement procedures under the scheme. The interactive format allowed for direct engagement with farmers, equipping them with the knowledge and resources necessary to protect their agricultural investments.
Farmers were encouraged to enroll in the PMFBY scheme for the ongoing Kharif season, thereby ensuring greater financial resilience and support in the face of agricultural risks.
The event underlined the government’s continued commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector through risk mitigation and support schemes like PMFBY.
