Awareness Programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) Held at Duga Block as Part of 9th Crop Insurance Week Celebration.
Pakyong, 4 July:
As part of the nationwide celebration of the 9th Crop Insurance Week, an awareness programme on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was successfully conducted at Duga Block. The event aimed to educate farmers about the benefits and procedures of availing crop insurance under the PMFBY scheme.
The programme was coordinated by Smt Sangita Basnett, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department, Duga. The programme was also attended by Agriculture Inspectors, Block Technology Manager,Assistant Technical Manager and witnessed active participation from local farmers, Panchayat members, officials from line departments, representatives from Common Service Centres (CSC), and Future Generali Insurance Company.
The awareness session included detailed discussions on the objectives, coverage, and claim procedures under PMFBY, with the goal of empowering farmers to secure their livelihoods against crop loss due to unforeseen circumstances. Farmers were also encouraged to enroll for the scheme during the current Kharif season.
This initiative is a step forward in ensuring that the farming community is well-informed and benefits from the safety net provided by the Government of India through PMFBY.
