*Seizure of Illegal Cough Syrup- Two Arrested!*
Namchi, 29 June:
Acting on credible source information, Melli Police Station successfully intercepted and seized a substantial quantity of illegal cough syrup from a Siliguri-Jorethang bound pickup vehicle b/r No. WB 73F 0460 during a surprise vehicle check along NH-710.
During the operation, two individuals were arrested:
1. Driver: Maneshwar Das, 39 years, s/o P.R. Das, r/o Majhigaon, Jorethang.
2. Co-accused: Md. Saddam Hussain, 30 years, s/o Sakil Alam, r/o Masjid Line, Jorethang.
A case has been registered at Melli Police Station under the relevant sections of SADA, and further investigation is underway.
Namchi District Police remains committed to combating drug trafficking and ensuring public safety.
