ENFORCEMENT DRIVE CONDUCTED AT YANGYANG BAZAR
25th June 2025,
Namchi District: The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), NTCP, District Hospital Namchi in coordination with Yangyang PHC and Yangyang Police Station conducted an enforcement drive at Yangyang Bazar today.
Objectives of the Drive:
1. To raise awareness about the harmful health effects of tobacco use
2. To ensure compliance with key provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) 2003
Key Actions Taken:
Surprise inspection of shops and restaurants.
Distribution and display of ‘No Smoking’ signage
On-the-spot sensitisation of shopkeepers and the general public regarding the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and tobacco control laws.
