"No Region Left Behind: Bridging the Gap"
Dzongu, June 25:
Tingvong, a picturesque village nestled in the enchanting forests of Upper Dzongu, has gained momentum in its agricultural activities with the support of the Agriculture Department. Led by Mr. Adarsh Rai, Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) Dzongu, along with FA Mrs. Kursongmit Lepcha, Krishi Sewika Miss Dukmit Lepcha, and field staff, the department conducted a training and awareness program on soybean cultivation for value chain partners under the National Mission on Edible Oilseeds in collaboration with FPOs of MOVCD-NER.
The program began with a welcome speech by FA Mrs. Kursongmit Lepcha, offering of khadas to Vice President Mrs Lachemit Lepcha, Panchayat members Tingvong GPU and FPO President Mr Dup Tshering Lepcha. Moving on she also highlighted key departmental schemes, including PMKISAN.
ADO Mr. Adarsh Rai provided in-depth insights on soybean cultivation practices, integrated pest management, and PM Fasal Bima Yojana, while also addressing farmer grievances.
FPO President delivered an extensive speech on FPO operations and functioning, ensuring dedication to future work.
Vice President Tingvong GPU emphasized insurance schemes, soybean cultivation, and local farming practices, motivating farmers to increase production.
Krishi Sewika Miss Dukmit Lepcha proposed the vote of thanks, concluding a fruitful training session with meaningful interactions between the department and farmers.
This initiative reflects the department's commitment to bridging gaps and empowering remote regions like Tingvong.
