DLC Meeting on PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana Held at DAC Gangtok
A District Level Committee (DLC) meeting on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana was held today at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gangtok. The meeting was chaired by Shri Tshering Norgyal Theengh, Additional District Magistrate, and attended by the team from the Sikkim Renewable Energy Development Agency (SREDA), led by Director Jeewan Thapa, along with Additional Chief Engineer , Superintending Engineer , Divisional Engineer, and Junior Engineer.
The meeting was also attended by the BDOs and Hon’ble Panchayat members from different blocks and villages identified for the Solar Model Village, under Gangtok District jurisdiction. The meeting commenced with a warm welcome by the Additional District Magistrate, followed by an address by the Director of SREDA. Subsequently, the D.E. of SREDA, Mr. CP Sharma provided a detailed explanation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and the concept of a Model Solar Village.
Several questions and concerns regarding the scheme’s implementation (both administrative and technical) were raised by the participants, which were effectively addressed by the SREDA team and ADC Gangtok.
The ADC Gangtok announced that the official notification regarding the commencement of challenge period for the model solar village under Gangtok District shall be issued shortly after getting due approval from the District Collector cum chairman DLC. The meeting concluded on a constructive note, marking a significant step forward in promoting solar energy adoption and sustainable development in the district.
