State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) Karfectar organises Career Counselling Program in Jorethang.
Namchi, 24 June :
The State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) Karfectar, under the Skill Development Department Government of Sikkim, organized a Career Counselling cum Mobilisation Program for senior students from schools in and around Jorethang.
This event was held on June 20,2025, in observance of World Youth Skills Day 2025, as part of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY).
The event was graced by the Honorable Area MLA Cum Advisor of the Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, Shri Madan Cintury who served as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Hon’ble NJNP President Shri Pavitra Manav, SDM Jorethang Shri Yogen Syangden, RTO Jorethang Shri Ben Kumar Chettri, Joint Director Ms. Archana Gurung, and various officials, who were present as Guests of Honour.
Key highlights of the program included the formal launch of KUZU, the official mascot, marking the 50th Anniversary of the State Government, along with the unveiling of a promotional video for World Youth Skills Day 2025 by Hon’ble Advisor Shri Madan Cintury.
Additionally, SICB proudly recognized the achievements of 15 ex-students, who were felicitated for their contributions and successes.
This initiative aims to empower the youth of Sikkim by providing them with career guidance and enhancing their skills to meet the demands of the job market. The program was attended by teachers and senior students from local schools, who benefited from career counselling provided by experts from the department and local entrepreneur Ms. Smita Rai.
Chief Administrator SICB, Shri Bishal Rai, addressed the gathering about various Govt. initiatives and Schemes and also worked wholeheartedly and committed to making this event a success.
The program concluded with an address by the Honourable Chief Guest, who emphasized the event's positive impact and its importance for the students.
