Notice issued for unauthorised occupation of UDD property in Namchi.

As per the judgement order dated 15.04.2025 issued by the
Competent Officer and communication video memo no. 1007/GOS/UDD/JRTH dated 17.06.2025, a formal notice was issued to the Multimedia Institute, located at Kisan Bazaar, Namchi, and its proprietor Mr Ravi Khaling, for unauthorised occupation of land and buildings belonging to the Urban Development Department (UDD), Namchi.
As per the judgement of the Competent officer cum Additional District Magistrate Namchi, Mr. Ravi Khaling was required to produce the allotment order issued by the Urban Development Department (UDD) by 30th May 2025.
However, Mr. Ravi Khaling failed to comply with the judgment within the stipulated timeframe. In view of this non-compliance, a notice was duly served for taking the property under the possession of the Urban Development Department, Government of Sikkim, today.
The notice issued under Section 6 of the Sikkim Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants and Rent Recovery) Act, 1980.
The inspection was carried out by SDM (HQ) Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia.
The occupants have been given 14 days to vacate the premises. Failure to comply may lead to legal action, including eviction and penalties.
Following an inspection was carried out at Trade license and Sanitation, UDD Namchi to ensure that all trade license holders are selling only the items listed under their approved licenses.
He emphasised the need for a thorough investigation on documentation and expiry dates, also instructed that any violations, including the sale of unauthorised or expired items, be reported immediately for necessary action.
The inspection team included Deputy Director UDD Namchi Mr S K Rai, Deputy Director UDD Jorethang Mr B C Rai, BO UDD Ms Pratima Subba, Peshkar Mr Bishal Tamang, ASI Namchi Mr Dharma Raj Chettri, along with the officials from the police department and UDD department.
