Gangtok, June 20, 2025: The Secretary PHED Shri Sailendra Sharma, along with the PCE Shri Sanjiv Rai and Chief Engineer Shri JB Basnet along with the concerned team of Engineers and field staff, inspected the intake headworks at source point Rateychu, of Gangtok WSS today.
The entire length of raw water mains was also inspected. The objective of the inspection was to ascertain the problems and possible solutions that need to be undertaken for ensuring optimum drinking water to the capital city Gangtok.
A small function was also held at 8th Mile BPT Camp to honour the field staff of RWM, for their dedication. Rain gear protection suits and gumboots were distributed to them as a token of appreciation.
Such inspections by senior engineers are alo planned for other towns in the coming days.
