Restoration of the Landslide-Affected Road by the Unique Preparedness and Commitment of the 72nd Battalion SSB of the Armed Border Force, Yuksum.
On June 18, 2025,
under the able guidance and leadership of the Commandant of the 72nd Battalion of the Armed Border Force, Yuksum, an exemplary display of humanitarian sentiment, sense of responsibility, and spirit of service was showcased. The main road from Border Outpost Nambu to the outer Border Outpost Chungri Basti (coordinates N-22°21’.097” E-88°07’.135”) was completely blocked due to a sudden landslide, causing difficulties not only in the operations of the stationed forces but also significant inconvenience to local villagers and travellers.
In view of the seriousness of the situation, the personnel deployed at the Border Post Nambu of the 72nd Battalion SSB responded promptly without delay. Despite extremely difficult geographical conditions, harsh weather, and rocky debris, they quickly cleared the blocked route with their indomitable courage, firm determination, and relentless hard work.
As a result of this dedicated effort, not only was the normal functioning of the force restored, but the daily routine of the local citizens also returned to normal. The local community, village heads, senior citizens, and travellers wholeheartedly praised this swift and humanitarian effort by the 72nd Battalion. They expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated personnel of the Battalion, stating that the armed border force not only protects the nation's borders but also emerges as a beacon of hope for the general public in times of crisis.
This effort by the 72nd Battalion SSB of the Armed Border Force brings to life the core principle of "Service, Security, Brotherhood" and reflects the humanitarian sensitivity and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces.
