VKSA Programme Enters Day 9 at Ravangla in Namchi District
Namchi, 9 June:
The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) progressed into its 9th day with programmes held at Bakim and Dalep under Ravangla subdivision in Namchi District. The event was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest, Hon’ble MLA cum Advisor Shri Rikshal Dorjee Bhutia (Buildings and Housing Department).
The VKSA-2025 campaign, which continues nationwide until 12th June 2025, is dedicated to engaging farmers across the country in building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready agricultural sector.
The Abhiyan is spearheaded by Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in collaboration with ICAR institutes and various State Departments—including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), Fisheries, and ATMA.
The programme involves multidisciplinary teams comprising agricultural scientists, departmental officials, and grassroots-level workers who are working to promote modern agricultural practices to enhance productivity and farmers’ income.
During the event, Hon’ble MLA cum Advisor Shri Rikshal Dorjee Bhutia encouraged farmers to embrace advanced technologies and improved farming methods for better outcomes. Resource persons from various line departments highlighted key government schemes and support mechanisms available for the benefit of farmers. Technologies developed by ICAR-NRC for Orchids were also showcased during the programme.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the farming community, reflecting their interest and commitment toward sustainable agricultural development.
