Soreng PHC Kicks Off Yoga Day 2025 Countdown with Wellness Program
SORENG, SIKKIM – June 8, 2025
The AYUSH Division of Soreng Primary Health Centre (PHC), under National AYUSH Mission, Government of Sikkim, today held a full-day health
and wellness program at the Loving Girl's Children Home in Sribadam. This event officially marks the start of the lead-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025.
Dr. Roshma Thapa (AYUSH Medical Officer) led the program. A team of health professionals, including Dr. Roshma Thapa (AYUSH MO), Dr. Akriti Rai (Medical Officer), Dr. Bibek Pradhan (Dental Surgeon), Miss Priyanka Rai (Optometrist), and Mrs. Darshika Sharma (Yoga Instructor), provided comprehensive health check-ups. These included tests for anemia, eye and dental exams, and general health assessments. The children also received valuable Ayurvedic and Homeopathic immunity boosters, along with essential medicines.
A special part of the day was the "Yoga Samavesh", an interactive session led by Mrs. Sharma. This engaging segment featured yoga demonstrations and a group session involving the children, their caregivers, and the health staff present.
This program perfectly shows the 2025 IDY theme: "Yoga for One Earth, One Health.
