Friday Field/Farm Day Mission Achieves Unprecedented Success in Pakyong District
Pakyong, June 7: The Additional District Collector's Office, Pakyong District, is pleased to announce the success of Episode 39 of the Friday Field/Farm Day Mission - Revival of Barren/Fallow Land for Cultivation. This initiative, launched by the Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, aims to promote sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and community well-being.
Key Objectives:
Revival of Barren/Fallow Land: Bringing unproductive lands under cultivation to increase agricultural productivity and food security.
Connect Earth: Fostering a deeper connection between humans and nature to promote well-being and sustainability.
Community Engagement: Encouraging collective participation from government officials, farmers, and the community.
Achievements:
Over 90% of villagers have started farming practices, contributing to the mission's success.- Employees from Gram Panchayats, Block Administrative Centres (BACs), and line departments have actively participated in cultivating unproductive lands.
The initiative has promoted organic farming and sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
Impact:
The Friday Field/Farm Day Mission has not only transformed barren lands into productive agricultural areas but also fostered a sense of community and connection with nature. This initiative aligns with the Chief Minister's vision of "Golden Sikkim, Prosperous Sikkim" and has been widely appreciated by the community.
