Orientation Programme on Professional Development Empowers Teachers in Gyalshing District
Gyalshing, May 29 :
A three-day Orientation Programme on Professional Development for Teachers began on May 28 at the Conference Hall of Zilla Bhawan Kyongsa.
The event, that began from May 28 and concludes on May 30, is jointly organized by the District Administrative Centre, Gyalshing, in collaboration with the District Education Office, Gyalshing, and is funded under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project of the Robotics Education and Competition (REC) Foundation.
The programme targets educators from both elementary and secondary levels, with participation from teachers across all schools under Gyalshing district, which include Primary (PRTs), Graduate (GTs), and Postgraduate Teachers.
The inaugural session featured three key themes:
Exploring Happiness in Classroom Led by Joint Director Mr Rajesh K. Thapa, this session emphasized the importance of emotional well-being and joyful learning environments for both students and teachers.
2.Gender Issues in Schools Addressed by HM Middle Gyalshing Secondary School Mr TO Bhutia, this session highlighted challenges and solutions related to gender sensitivity and equity in educational spaces.
3.Inclusive Education Presented by Ms Paru P Gurung, this session focused on building accessible and supportive learning spaces for students of all abilities and background.
The sessions were interactive and thought-provoking, encouraging teachers to reflect on their roles as changemakers in the lives of young learners. District officials emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in nurturing progressive, inclusive, and student-friendly education across the region.
This orientation marks a forward-looking approach by Gyalshing's educational authorities, ensuring that teachers are equipped with the right tools, knowledge, and inspiration to create classrooms where every child can thrive.
