State Level Coordination Meeting on Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan
Gangtok, [23/05/2025]:
The Agriculture and Horticulture Departments of Sikkim, in collaboration with ICAR – Sikkim Centre and the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the state, convened a State Level Coordination Meeting to advance the objectives of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. The meeting focused on the formation of State, District, and Block-level teams, as well as the identification of priority blocks and villages for targeted agricultural development under the initiative.
The meeting was graced by the presence of key officials, including:
• Mr. Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Principal Director, Agriculture
• Mr. Suman Kumar Sharma, Principal Director, Horticulture
• Mr. Rajen Thapa, Principal Director, Agriculture
• Dr. Ram Gopal Devdas, Head of ICAR
In addition, the meeting saw participation from:
• Heads of District Agriculture and Horticulture Departments
• Additional Directors Scheme Incharges Joint Directors, and Deputy Directors from both Agriculture and Horticulture Departments
• Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs) and Horticulture Development Officers (HDOs)
• Heads of KVKs from all districts of Sikkim
The Departments reaffirmed their commitment to promoting inclusive agricultural growth in Sikkim and ensuring that the benefits of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan reach every farmer in the identified areas.
