A Review meeting of PM RKVY scheme took place at SAMETI Hall, Agriculture department, Gangtok today.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Jagdish Pradhan- State Nodal Officer RKVY, Shri Tshering Norbu Bhutia- Additional Director(scheme incharge of PDMC,Agroforestry and vibrant village), Smt Chenzom Palmu Lepcha Additional Director(scheme incharge Soil health and fertility), Smt Niramala Moktan- Additional Director Namchi district, Shri Pranaya Gurung- Additional Director Soreng District, Smt Preeti Moktan Joint director Soil health and fertility, Shri Yogesh sharrma- Joint Director Gangtok District, Shri EnchungBhutia- Joint Director Mangan District, Deputy directors, ADO,AI, AE and JE from all the six Districts of Sikkim.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Smt Preeti Moktan Joint Director, Soil health & fertility.
Shri Jagdish Pradhan, State nodal officer addressed the gathering about the importance of RKVY scheme, he also gave information about the SNA SPARSH account and its functions. He also informed the house about the use of Krishi mapper in field level, stressing its use as compulsory. He also emphasised on result oriented work in all the districts along with the importance of book keeping of all the schemes. He further directed all the district heads to distribute the inputs received in clusters based system and advised them to geo tag each input. While concluding he informed the house about the introduction of Agro forestry to benefit the farmers of Sikkim.
Shri Tshering Norbu Bhutia in his address touch on various schemes of the department namely, Per Drop More Crop , Agroforestry and Vibrant village programme. In Agro forestry he informed the house about the inclusion of crops that are high in carbon sequestration that will help to mitigate Global warming and improve soil health and Agricultural productivity. He also informed the district heads to nominate a Master trainer in Agroforestry.
Smt Chenzom Palmu Lepcha congratulated all the six districts for timely completion of soil health card target for the state of Sikkim. She informed the house that in this financial year the main focus would be soil sample collection of cardamom field where 100 samples each will be collected from abandoned cardamom fields, disease fields and healthy fields.
She further said that soil collection targets will be provided for each district.
Detailed presentations on RKVY its input were presented by all districts which included implementation work and success stories of the farmers.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Yogesh Sharma, Joint Director Gangtok District.
