A Proud Moment: Isha Chettri Selected for ISRO YUVIKA 2025 Programme.
Gyashing, May 21:
Ms Isha Chettri, a talented student from the beautiful Himalayan village of Hee-Yangthang under Gyalshing district has been selected to participate in the prestigious "Young Scientist Programme - YUVIKA 2025" organized by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Isha is currently a 9th-grade student at Hee-Yangthang Senior Secondary School. She is the daughter of Mr Yuvraj Chettri and Ms Preeti Maya Chettri. Being selected for this elite national-level programme from among thousands of students across the country is a matter of immense pride for Isha, her family, and the entire school community.
The YUVIKA 2025 programme is being held from May 19 to 30 at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) in Hyderabad. The aim of the programme is to inspire young students toward space science, technology, and research. Participants are given the opportunity to interact directly with ISRO scientists, engineers, and subject experts, visit laboratories, engage in project work, and receive various hands-on training sessions.
The main campus of NRSC is located in Balanagar, Hyderabad, approximately 11 kilometers from Secunderabad Railway Station. Special instructions and travel arrangements have been made for the participants.
Isha’s remarkable achievement has brought great joy to the entire school community. The school principal, Mr Narayan Basnet, along with teachers, staff, and fellow students, have extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her bright future. Teacher Ms Kavita Bista played a significant role in guiding and supporting Isha in her preparation.
Isha's historic success is expected to serve as an inspiration for other students and youth in Sikkim to explore the fields of science, research, and space technology.
