SKM/GOV/PR/2025/214 PRESS RELEASE RAJ BHAVAN DATE - 20.05.2025 Shri Tamal Dutta, Senior Manager of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Siliguri Divisional Office, along with other officials from IOCL, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan today. During the meeting, the IOCL delegation presented a congratulatory letter to the Hon’ble Governor on behalf of the Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation, Shri A.K. Sahni, extending warm greetings on the momentous occasion of the 50th Statehood Day of Sikkim. The Hon’ble Governor appreciated the gesture and encouraged the Corporation to actively contribute through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives—particularly in alignment with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi emphasizing the importance of enhancing the quality of life in remote, border areas identified under the “Vibrant Villages” programme. He noted that such efforts would not only help curb migration but also strengthen the support system for our armed forces, ultimately contributing to the holistic development of these regions. He also highlighted the significance of close collaboration with local authorities to further enhance the goals of inclusive growth and sustainable development. The Hon’ble Governor assured the delegation that Raj Bhavan would extend all possible support in these efforts. The meeting also included a comprehensive briefing on IOCL’s ongoing schemes and initiatives in the state, reflecting the Corporation’s continued commitment to the development of Sikkim.
