A team of NDRF conducted Familarization of Mock Exercise(FAMEX) Community Awareness Program at Temi BAC in presence of the BAC officials, police personnel, DMA Officials, representatives from the local community and students, today.
The primary objective of the program was to sensitize the community about various types of natural and manmade disasters and enhance their preparedness through hands-on demonstrations.
Participants were briefed on essential do’s and don’ts to follow during emergencies such as earthquakes, landslides, lightning, and thunderstorms.
The NDRF team conducted detailed practical sessions on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adults, children and infants,Management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (choking),Techniques to stop bleeding and handle bone fractures,Use of improvised (DIY) stretchers using bamboo, rope, blankets, and rice sacks,Rescue procedures for drowning victims,Fire survival strategies and safe usage of fire extinguishers.
The event underscored the importance of community-level awareness and responsiveness in disaster situations. The training was delivered with clarity, enabling participants to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential during emergencies
