Sikkim Participates in National Review Meeting of WDC-PMKSY 2.0
The Forest and Environment Department, Government of Sikkim, participated in the National Review Meeting of WDC-PMKSY 2.0 convened by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Government of India, in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 29th April 2025.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Udai Gurung, CF-MS and Ms. Arati Basnet, JD-CEO, representing the *State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA), Sikkim*. The program brought together senior officials from across the country to review the progress of the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY) 2.0 and to share strategies for effective implementation.
During the meeting, the Sikkim team presented the state's progress, key achievements, and strategic plans under WDC-PMKSY 2.0. Emphasis was placed on Sikkim's terrain-specific planning, season-based work scheduling, community participation, and alignment with the State’s priorities for spring-shed management and sustainable rural development. The department also highlighted its efforts to accelerate fund utilization, improve natural resource management, and enhance livelihood support through watershed interventions.
The review provided an important platform to exchange best practices and reaffirmed the State's commitment to sustainable watershed development in line with national goals.
