Director General SSB Visits 36th Battalion in Sikkim

Shri Amrit Mohan Prasad, IPS, Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), undertook an official visit to the 36th Battalion SSB from 19th to 21st April 2025. During his three-day tour, the Director General interacted extensively with Officers, Subordinate Officers, Jawans, and their families, taking keen interest in their welfare and working conditions.
A Sainik Sammelan was held during the visit, where Shri Prasad patiently listened to the concerns and suggestions put forth by the personnel. He assured the force that appropriate measures would be taken to address genuine issues and reiterated his commitment towards the welfare and betterment of SSB personnel.
The Director General appreciated the relentless dedication, high morale, and enthusiasm of the Jawans serving in the challenging and high-altitude terrain of Sikkim. He highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being and informed that an Anti-Obesity Drive is being planned across the force to promote a healthier lifestyle and higher operational readiness.
In addition to his interactions with the force, Shri Prasad also visited prominent locations in Gyalshing and held discussions with Commandants and officials from the district administration. These engagements were aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the unique geographical and operational challenges faced by units deployed in the region.
His visit concluded with valuable guidance to enhance both administrative and operational efficiency of the SSB units in Sikkim, reaffirming the Force’s commitment to national security and the welfare of its personnel.
