Sikkim concludes Executive Meeting of CPA-India Region Zone III in Gangtok
The executive meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone III was held on 3rd April at a local hotel in Gangtok, under the chairmanship of Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of CPA India Region Zone-III, Mr Sharingain Longkumer. Mr Longkumer was accompanied by Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Mr MN Sherpa, Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly, Mr Biswajit Daimary along with key members of the CPA India Region Zone III, including Deputy Speaker, Secretary and senior officials from the Sikkim Legislative Assembly and Speakers, Deputy Speakers and officials from Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Assam, as well as representatives from Manipur. The meeting was followed by State Dinner hosted by Hon'ble Chief Minister at Samaan Bhawan.
Ahead of the meeting, the delegates visited New Rumtek Monastery and headed towards Martam Village Resort for lunch where the officials of Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries Department gave a presentation to the guests.
Today i.e. 4th April, 2025, all the dignitaries went for post conference study tour towards Nathula and Tsongmo lake accompanied by Hon'ble Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly Shri M. N. Sherpa, Hon'ble Deputy Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, Hon'ble Advisor Smt. Kala Rai and Hon'ble Advisor Smt. Pamin Lepcha.
All the delegates are set to depart on 5th April towards their respective States.
