Sikkim State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority is organizing the National Lok Adalat on Saturday the 10th of May, 2025 for the following types of pre-litigation and pending cases viz:
(A). Pre-litigation:
All type of Civil and Criminal Compoundable cases, as may be permissible under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 and National Legal Services (Lok Adalats) Regulations, 2009 may be taken up.
(B). Pending in the Courts:
All type of civil and criminal compoundable cases including the followings:
i. Criminal Compoundable Offences;
ii. Cases under Section 138, Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881;
iii. Money Recovery suits;
iv. Motor Accident Claims cases;
v. Labour disputes;
vi. Disputes related to Public Utility services like Electricity & Water Bills etc.
(which are compoundable);
vii. Matrimonial disputes (except divorce), Family disputes;
viii. Land Acquisition cases;
ix. Service matters including Pension cases;
x. Revenue and other ancillary matters, pending before the Hon’ble High Court, district Courts and state/ district/ taluka authorities;
xi. IPR matters/ Consumer matters and other matters pending before any other
quasi-judicial authority;
xii. Other civil cases (rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific performance
suits etc.).
Any individual or any department having such matters pending either in Courts/Tribunals/Departments, or at the pre-litigation stage may approach the District Lok Adalats, or Taluk Lok Adalats (for settlement of any matters as listed above) on or before 03.05.2025.
