Farmers Across Gyalshing District Tune in to Live Telecast of PM Kisan Scheme
Gyalshing,February 24:The 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was released on February 24, 2025, benefiting approximately 9.8 crore farmers with a total disbursement of ₹22,000 crore.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) West Sikkim, in collaboration with the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Gyalshing district, organized a live telecast of this event. This viewing event aimed to connect farmers with the ongoing efforts by the government to empower them with the tools, resources, and financial assistance necessary to boost their agricultural livelihoods. The PM Kisan scheme, which provides direct income support to small and marginal farmers, has become a cornerstone of India’s agricultural policy, helping millions of families across the nation. The telecast was made available through the KVKs to farmers in rural areas to ensure they remain informed of the new announcements and benefits under the scheme.
The gathering was attended by Zilla Panchayat Singyang-Chumbung, Mrs Sabitra Sanyasi, Panchayat member Sindrang, Mrs Phurba Doma Bhutia, Deputy Director Agri. Dept. Cum Dy. PD ATMA Dr Karma Chewang Bhutia, Senior Scientist & Head, Mr Dinesh Basnett along with 100 progressive farmers, KVK staff, and agriculture department personnel.
During the event, the agriculture department distributed inputs and soil health card to the farmers to support their agricultural activities.
