Two days Capacity Building Programme for the School Heads and Teachers of PM SHRI Schools was conducted for Gangtok, Mangan & Pakyong District on 6th and 7th February, 2025 at PM SHRI Sir TNSS School, Gangtok and for Namchi, Gyalshing & Soreng District on 11th & 12th February, 2025 at PM SHRI Namchi Girls SSS. The total of 689 teachers along with the School Heads of 43 PM SHRI Schools attended the capacity building programme.
The inaugural session at Gangtok was attended by Shri Tashi Chophel, Secretary (SE) as the Chief Guest where he highlighted the significance of such training programme. He urged the teachers to adopt innovative practices in teaching which will help the children in long run. The programme was also addressed by Smt. Tseringkee Chingapa, Director-cum- State Nodal Officer (PM SHRI), where she highlighted the role of PM SHRI School Heads & Teachers in handholding other schools. She also highlighted the framework of PM SHRI which is aligned with National Education Policy -2020 to provide holistic education to the children.
The programme at Namchi District was attended by Shri Suraj Rai, Chief Education Officer (Namchi District) as the Chief Guest where he urged the teachers to make the maximum utilization of training programme, so that there will be a team of teachers who can work in coordination with School heads to meet the objectives of PM SHRI.
The training programme was conducted by four Resource Persons who underwent Capacity Building Training as Master Trainers at NIEPA, New Delhi. The Resource Persons were Dr. Purna Bahadur Chettri, Principal, PM SHRI Soreng SSS; Shri H.N. Sharma, Principal, PM SHRI Lt. CLS Chujachen SSS; Shri S.K. Pradhan, Principal, PM SHRI Singtam SSS and Shri Karam Chettri, Headmaster, PM SHRI Tingmoo SSS. The programme also had the presence of Shri D.B. Rai, Addl. Director, Namchi District, Smt. Lamkila Bhutia, Joint Director (Planning) and Shri Deoraj Bagdas, Assistant Director (PM SHRI) HQ.
The programme concluded with the presentations and feedback from the teachers and school heads where they displayed the immense commitment to serve the school and children with greater sense of responsibilities as per the demand of exemplar PM SHRI Scheme.
