76th Republic Day, 2025 was celebrated today at BAC, Kabi. The event was graced by Shri Thenley Tshering Bhutia, Hon'ble MLA, 29- Kabi-Lungchok Constituency cum Advisor, Health & Family Welfare Department and Culture Department, Government of Sikkim as Chief Guest along with presence of Shri Abhijeet R Patil, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kabi Sub-Division, Shri Tashi Wangyal Bhutia, BDO, Kabi, Shri Deependra Subba, RO-cum-DS, LR&DMD,Kabi Sub-Division, Shri Tashi Dorjee Bhutia, AEO(Education) Kabi, BO(T) Forest Department,Zilla Panchayat, Kabi-Rongpa GPU, Ward Panchayats under Kabi Sub-Division, officials, staff and local gentries.
The program commenced with unfurling of the National flag by the Chief Guest who was accorded an impressive Guard of Honour by Sikkim Police team from Phodong PS and Kabi OP. The event had a variety of cultural dances performed by group from Late Rinzing Lhamu Bhutia Memorial Trust, Kabi, Tingda Cultural Group and Lingchom Cultural Group.
Further, Republic Day messages from Hon'ble Governor and HCM was read out by SDM, Kabi and BDO, Kabi respectively. The Chief Guest in his speech emphasized on preserving and maintaining our culture and tradition. He also stressed the importance of education and encouraged students to strive for competitive exams, civil service.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Shri Deependra Subba, RO/DS, LR&DMD, Kabi Sub-DivisionSub-Division.
