40th Gram Sabha of Mellidara Paiyong GPU Concludes Successful
Namchi, 18 January:
The 40th Gram Sabha of 26 Mellidara Paiyong GPU, Sumbuk Block, was successfully conducted on 18/01/2025. The meeting, presided over by Panchayat President Madam Priscilla Limboo, saw significant participation from various officials and community members.
Honourable Area MLA Shri Nar Bdr Pradhan and Honourable Zilla Member Miss Nomit Lepcha (Mellidara Turuk Zilla territory) attended as observers. A strong representation from line departments included officials from Power (DE & AD), Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, the BDO Sumbuk, AD (PRI), JE (Power, Roads & Bridges, Water Resources), APO Sumbuk, and the Director of Tourism. Members of the Gram Planning Forum, Standing Committee, and respected Gram Sabha members were also present.
The meeting commenced with a welcome note by President Limboo, followed by a budget presentation by Panchayat Account Assistant Mr. Nagendra Chhetri. Ward-wise demands for FY 2025-26 were presented by Mr. Saran Pradhan, Panchayat Secretary/VAA. A productive discussion ensued, leading to the passing of several resolutions with the Gram Panchayat's approval.
