Shri Akshay Sachdeva, IPS (1991 batch), newly appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Sikkim, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan today.
The Hon’ble Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations to Shri Sachdeva on assuming his office of DGP and wished him a successful tenure.
During the meeting, the Hon’ble Governor expressed his deep concern regarding the growing prevalence and accessibility of drugs among the youth in the state, identifying it as a significant threat to the future of society. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Shri Sachdeva, the Sikkim Police administration would adopt effective measures to combat this issue.
In response, the DGP assured the Hon’ble Governor of his commitment to performing his duties with the highest level of dedication and integrity. He emphasized his determination to ensure the strict enforcement of law and order throughout the state.
