Today Brigadier Manoj Gupta, Chief Engineer, Project Swastik, BRO paid courtesy visit to Hon'ble Governor Mr. Om Prakash Mathur at Rajbhavan. Meanwhile Colonel A. What. Dixit also had presence.
During this meeting, the Chief Engineer provided detailed insight to the Governor through a Power Point presentation about the ongoing restoration efforts following last year's flood in North Sikkim.
Brigadier Manoj Gupta said that the repair and reconstruction of roads, bridges and other infrastructure in flood-affected areas in North Sikkim under BRO Swastik Project. He assured the Governor that all tasks are being completed on time and with high quality.
Also, Chief Engineer informed Governor about upcoming mega projects in Sikkim and Bharatmala.
During this time, the objective of these projects were also discussed with direct relation to maintaining national security, strengthening state infrastructure and fostering economic growth through tourism.
Governor sir appreciated BRO's selfless service despite difficult circumstances, also gave special thanks for opening North Sikkim for tourists transport in short time and said that I am the dedication of BRO in my recent North Sikkim visit. Have seen hard work closely and motivated to do the same in the future.
He said the BRO's efforts are commendable with the spirit of the nation. BRO is playing an important role in the development of state and nation.
On this occasion, Hon'ble Governor awarded 758 BRTF with 'Governor Unit Appreciation Award' for restoration works in North Sikkim.
