SIKKIM PARTICIPATES IN PARAKH RASHTRIYA SARVEKSHAN 2024.

PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 was held across the country on 04/12/2024.
A total of 413 classes from 272 sampled schools across six districts of Sikkim enthusiastically participated in the survey, that saw the presence of 8,236 students from Grades III, VI and IX. The subjects chosen for the survey were English, Mathematics and Environmental studies for grades 3 and 6 and English ,Mathematics, Science and Social Science for grade 9.
A total of 414 Field Investigators comprising of trainees of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and Non-Teaching staff of schools (other than sampled schools) were involved in administering the Achievement Test (AT) to students of all sampled schools. Whereas, 272 Observers deputed by CBSE keenly observed the survey in their respective school.
The primary goal of PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan is to assess the learning outcomes of students and provide an in-depth evaluation of the overall status of education across the country. The survey also looks into the understanding of learning conditions by collecting contextual data through Teacher Questionnaires (TQ), School Questionnaire (SQ), and Pupil Questionnaire (PQ). The results will inform future educational policies and reforms, enabling data-driven decisions to improve India's education system.
Dr. Rabin Chettri, Director SCERT, Mrs. Asha Khatri, Joint Director Samagra Shiksha, Mr. Kuldip Sharma, Lecturer SCERT, Ms. Anjana Thapa, Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha facilitated the process from Control Room situated at Conference Hall of Education Department.
Dr. Shishu Pal Singh, Assistant Professor from ESD, NCERT was deputed by PARAKH as the Central Observer for Sikkim State. The Observer along with Mr. Laxuman Adhikari, Assistant Director and Mr. Kamal Pradhan, Coordinator from Samagra Shiksha paid field visits to Lingding JHS, Holy Cross School and Aho Kisan SS in order to see the ground reality about the processes and challenges in executing large Scale Assessments across the country.
The Sarvekshan across all six districts was facilitated and monitored by Secretary, School Education and Director, SCERT as State level Coordinators(SLCs), State level Master Trainers(SLMTs),Chief Education Officers of District Education Office of all the districts as District Level Coordinators (PARAKH ),Principals of Resource Custody Centres as District Level Coordinators (CBSE), District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs),and all other officials associated with PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024.
