Inauguration of RAMP and MSME Division Office Spaces at the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim
Gangtok, Sikkim - The Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, proudly inaugurated its newly established office spaces for the RAMP and MSME Division at Udyog Bhavan, Tadong, Gangtok. The ceremony was graced by Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Honorable Minister of Commerce and Industries, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Departments as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Ms. Karma D. Youtso (SCS), Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, and Shri M. Ravi Kumar (IFS), Director, MSME, Commerce and Industries Department.
The new offices have been designed to meet the operational needs of the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) RAMP team, State-Level Project management Unit (SL-PMU) PM Vishwakarma team, and the MSME Division staff. This development, funded under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program, focuses on making MSME support services more effective and accessible in the state. RAMP is an innovative initiative designed to strengthen the MSME sector in Sikkim by addressing key areas such as capacity building, raising awareness, improving logistics, supporting green practices, and providing insurance support. Complementing this effort, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme aims to honor and uplift traditional artisans by enhancing their skills and creating better livelihood opportunities.
At the inauguration, Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supporting MSMEs in Sikkim.
“This initiative is a crucial step in empowering small businesses and artisans, providing them with the support they need to succeed in a competitive market,” he said. The Secretary and Director of the Commerce and Industries Department highlighted the importance of teamwork between the government and local entrepreneurs, encouraging them to make full use of the services and resources offered by the MSME Division.
This event marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to foster a supportive environment for MSME growth, paving the way for a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sikkim.
