Under the Prime Minister Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), the Awaas Saptah was observed throughout the villages of Pakyong District, culminating in a closing ceremony held at Rorathang within the Chalamthang Pacheykhani Gram Panchayat Unit, Pakyong District, Sikkim.
The Awaas Saptah, a weeklong celebration, was designed to promote the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) initiative, which aims to provide affordable housing to rural families.
This event was organized to raise awareness regarding the advantages of the scheme and to encourage eligible beneficiaries to submit applications.
Throughout the duration of the Awaas Saptah, various activities were undertaken, including awareness campaigns, rallies, beneficiary meetings, and interactive sessions. Furthermore, there was a display of scheme-related information and materials, along with on-the-spot registration and facilitation of applications.
Also present were Shri T.R. Baniya, Block Development Officer of Pakyong/Duga, Block Administrative Centres, and Shri Avtar Chettri, Nodal Officer for PMAY-G in Pakyong District.
Ms. Ranju Poudaly, Hon'ble Panchayat President, Shri Deepan Sharma, Hon'ble Panchayat Member of Chalamthang Pacheykhani Gram Panchayat, along with officials, locals, and volunteers, actively engaged in the events, contributing to the success of the Awaas Saptah.
Shri Robin Pd Sewa, Additional District Collector of Dev Pakyong District, emphasized the importance of this programme. In pursuit of the objective to provide "Housing for Needy People" in rural Sikkim, the Awaas Saptah represents a significant initiative. "We remain dedicated to delivering affordable housing to our rural families," stated Shri Robin Pd Sewa, Additional District Collector (Dev) Pakyong District.
"The Awaas Saptah has facilitated the creation of awareness in Rural Sikkim and has encouraged eligible beneficiaries to apply for the PMAY-G scheme."
