A meeting was conducted today i.e. 16th November 2024, in the auditorium of Modern SSS regarding the review of the recently conducted Pre – Borad Examination of Class X in the Government Senior Secondary & Secondary Schools under Gangtok District.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sonam Denzongpa, Principal Director, Education Department, and was attended by Mrs. Tseringkee Chingapa, Director (SE), Education Department, Mrs. Chime Donka Denjongpa, Chief Education Officer/Gangtok, Mrs. Hannah Yonzan, Joint Director (Academics), Gangtok District, Mrs. Doma Zimba, Joint Director, Mrs. Sandhya Basnett, Deputy Director, Education Department, Mr. Deepak Rai, Deputy Director, Education Department, Gangtok, Deputy Director & Assistant Directors from the Block Education Office, Head of Institutes of all SSS & SS, subject teachers teaching in Class X, officials and staffs from District Education Office Gangtok.
The meeting began with the welcome speech by CEO/Gangtok. In her speech CEO mentioned that the CM Mentorship Programme is very important and is a dream of our Hon’ble CM to achieve 100% result. She asked the school heads and teachers present in the meeting to feel free and share the challenges and their probable solution without hesitation.
The welcome speech was followed by a brief presentation of the Pre-Board Exam Analysis by Joint Director/ Academics. In her presentation she shared the subject wise performance of the schools under each block. The Gangtok district overall performance in the state was also shared.
The Principal Director addressed the school heads and teachers that the CM Mentorship Program is an initiative of the government to ensure 100% result starting from class X this year. He asked the school to focus more on the students who have performed badly in this Pre-Board Exam, so that they get motivated enough to pass the board. He said that he is always available for the school to approach for any help if needed for the betterment of the students.
An interactive session with the school heads and teachers was held in which the challenges faced by the schools were brainstormed. After a satisfactory interactive session both the school heads and teachers assured to give better performance in the next Pre-Board Exam in the month of December.
The gathering was also addressed by Director/SE, and in her speech stated that the department is always there to help and support the schools. She noted whatever genuine challenges the schools are facing and ensured that she will put up the matters with the higher authorities for a solution. The extracurricular activities with which students of Class X & XII are presently burdened shall be reduced as much as possible.
Director/SE also pointed out that the teachers as well as students are stressed due to pressure of performing better in the boards. She suggested that the teachers and students practice Relaxation Techniques for 5 to 7 minutes each day from teachers who are trained in Heartfulness Meditation. She announced that department proposes to award teachers who produce 100% result in the subject they teach.
The CEO announced that Winter Coaching shall commence from 16th December for a month exactly, in 24 Centers under Gangtok District. She urged all the schools to ensure 100% attendance during the coaching and make this CM Mentorship Programme a grand success.
The program concluded with vote of thanks by AD, Gangtok District, Mr. Karma T.N. Shenga.
