A State level Competition of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ flagship program of Ministry of Education, New Delhi was organised under the aegis of State Project Office, Samagra Shiksha, Education Department on 15/11/2024 at PM SHRI Sir TNSSS, Gangtok.
The Chief Guest for the day was Shri Tashi Chophel, Secretary, School Education cum State Project Director, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim. Shri A. D. Chettri, Additional Director, Text Book, Language & Samagra Shiksha, Shri Thupden Bhutia, Additional Director and Shri Deepak Rai, Account Officer from SPO/Samagra Shiksha, Education Department was the special guest for the day’s program. The program also had the presence of education officials from district and blocks, escort teachers and the students from the participating schools from various govt. schools across the six districts.
The panel of Juries for day’s program included Ms. Diki Dolkar Bhutia, Ms. Nanthoi Hubam & Mr. Bikash Chettri teaching faculty of PM SHRI Sir TNSSS, Gangtok. Shri A. D. Chettri, Additional Director, in his opening address gave a brief outline on the day’s event, followed by a power point presentation of action taken report on Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ program of the State-by-State Nodal Officer, Shri Sushil Tamang.
Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Programme was conceptualised by the Government of India with the idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between people of different regions. The State level competition is a culmination of School, Block and District level competition which were held earlier. The day’s event was held in three different categories Primary (Cl I-V)-Traditional Fancy Dress Competition, Elementary (Cl VI-VIII) Painting Competition & Secondary/Sr. Sec (Cl IX-X) Elocution competition.
The winners of the State Level Competition are:-
In the primary level Traditional Fancy Dress Competition, the winners are:-
1st position- Azeem Pandi Lepcha & Kongchen Lepcha, Nampatam PS, Mangan District
2nd position- Leozen Bhutia & Mahesh Manger, Singpheng PS, Gyalshing District
3rd position- Ayusha Rai, Daring Lingzey PS, Pakyong District
In the Elementary level Painting Competition, the winners are:-
1st position- Sidarth Tamang, Tea Garden Jr. High School, Namchi District
2nd position- Pranita Rai, Barasamsing Jr. High School, Soreng District
3rd position- Tseten Doma Bhutia, Namok Jr. High School, Mangan District
In the Secondary & Sr.Sec. level Elocution, the winners are:-
1st position- Urgen Tenzing Gurung, Duga Sec. School, Pakyong District
2nd position- Azor Lepcha, SCLMSS, Passingdang, Mangan District
3rd position- Sujala Rana, SLDGK Mangalbaria Sr. Sec. School, Mangan District
The Chief Guest, Shri Tashi Chophel, Secretary, School Education cum State Project Director, in his address congratulated all the student’s for their wonderful presentation and urged them to study well to avail different schemes and facilities offered by the State Education Department and various National agencies. Trophies, certificates and cash prizes were presented to the winners and participants by the Chief Guest.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Sushil Tamang, State Nodal Officer of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat program. Ms. Anjana Thapa, State Yoga Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha presided as the Master of Ceremony.
