29/10/2024: The Sport and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim is organizing 21 km Half Open Marathon and 3 km Run for Unity for Under 16 school children on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October 2024. Both the events will be flagged off by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Sikkim from M G Marg Gangtok Sikkim at 6:00 am on 31st October 2024. The registration process is going on and many participants have already registered their participations. There are very attractive cash awards of Rs.2,00,000/-, Rs.1,50,000/- and Rs.1,00,000/- as first, second and third prizes respectively in both men and women categories, besides 10 consolation prizes of 20,000/- each for Half Open Marathon. Similarly, in case of Under 16 school children, cash prizes of Rs.30,000/-, Rs.20,000/- and Rs.10,000/- are being awarded to first, second and third winners respectively, separately in boys & girls categories. The certificates and trophies will also be awarded to the winners.
