SIMFED Holds 68th Board of Directors Meeting in Gangtok
Gangtok, October 28, 2024:
The 68th Board of Directors meeting of the Sikkim State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. (SIMFED) took place today, chaired by Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia, Chairman of SIMFED. Board Secretary Yogesh Gurung and Managing Director Bhaskar Basnett were also in attendance.
The meeting covered a 17-point agenda, with key decisions including:
- Approval to delete Rule 7(4) of the SIMFED Service Rule 2008, with future staffing matters to follow SIMFED’s Bye Laws.
- Approval for purchasing shares in National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL), Bharatia Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL), and National Cooperative Organic Limited (NCOL).
- Signing of an MoU with Organic Agro India to market cherry pepper and turmeric.
- Implementation of a web-based file tracking system, GPS-enabled attendance management, and digital recordkeeping.
The Board also discussed drafting a DPR for organic produce marketing to secure funding from central agencies, among other initiatives. This meeting marks another step forward in SIMFED’s mission to enhance cooperative services and local market growth.
