A multispeciality health camp was conducted today at the Pakyong Public Health Centre (PHC) in Pakyong District, in collaboration with the National Programme for the Healthcare of the Elderly.
The event was inaugurated by the Zilla Upadhyakshya of Pakyong, Mrs Prabha Pradhan, in the presence of various distinguished members, including the Chief Medical Officer of Pakyong District, Dr. Madan Mani Dhakal; Mr. Gyanendra Karki, Deputy Director of the SIECB in Pakyong; Dr. Prabhat Moutan, District Nodal Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD); Dr. Siddhant Basnett, Medical Officer in Charge of Pakyong; Dr. Sarjoy Hang Subba, Medical Officer in Pakyong; Mrs. Ganga Sharma, Community Health Officer; Mrs. Radhika Gurung, Community Health Officer; and Mrs. Jamuna Chettri, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife, alongside the District NCD and PHC NCD teams.
Additionally, specialists Dr. Angila Dorjee, Dr. Mayel Lepcha, Dr. Karma Zimba, Dr. Anurag Pradhan, Dr. Suraj Adhikari, Dr. Birendra Chettri, and Mr. Sonam Tongden were in attendance.
The programme's overview was presented by the Deputy Director of SIECB, Pakyong. Furthermore, a briefing on the initiative was delivered by the District Nodal Officer for the East region, while Dr. Kuljan Lama provided insights on the Ayush systems. The Chief Medical Officer of Pakyong District, Dr. Madan Mani Dhakal, concluded the proceedings by summarising the programme.
Mrs. Prava Pradhan emphasised the significance of health and ongoing programs for the elderly. Subsequently, she officially inaugurated the camp, which was dedicated to conducting screenings for various ailments among the elderly population through a comprehensive geriatric assessment, followed by targeted medical evaluations by dedicated specialists. Medications were also dispensed as part of the programme.
