As the 15-day long Swachhata Hi Sewa 2024 Campaign approaches its conclusion, the Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Passingdang/Dzongu, Mangan District, successfully organized the District Level Literary Competitions at the BAC Conference Hall. Preliminary literary activities at the Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) level were conducted on 23rd September 2024, across seven schools representing the seven GPUs of Dzongu. These events, including Quiz, Essay Writing, Painting, and Waste-to-Art competitions, showcased the creativity and intellect of young students from the Dzongu. The top three winners from each event at the GPU level were subsequently invited to participate in the District Level Competition held today at BAC Passingdang.
Six GPUs from Dzongu actively participated in the final events, where the most promising students demonstrated their talent and knowledge. The winners were honored with certificates of appreciation, presented by the Chief Guest, Shri Thinley Namgyal Lepcha, Deputy Director of the Education Department, North Sikkim, in the presence of the Dr. Mahendra Tamang, BDO, officials, and staff of BAC Passingdang/Dzongu. In recognition of their achievements, the district-level winners will also be formally felicitated during the Gandhi Jayanti Celebration, scheduled to take place on 2nd October 2024 at the District Administrative Centre, Mangan.
In a momentous addition to the day’s events, the Honourable Member of Parliament, Dr. Indra Hang Subba, graced the Quiz Competition with his presence. His insightful and inspiring words left a lasting impression on the young participants. The Honourable MP reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting BAC Passingdang in addressing its ongoing challenges, offering assurances of continued cooperation and assistance.
